Three second-year students from the Faculty of Health Care’s General Nursing program – Daina Gecevičiūtė, Apolinija Miglė Monkevičiūtė, and Kamilė Keršytė – together with students and lecturers from the Faculty of Business Management, participated in the international COIL project “Afya Action: Youth & Women for Change” in Belgium and are sharing their impressions.
The team spent most of their time in Mechelen, at Thomas More University, where meetings and seminars took place. The main goal was to collaborate and develop a project aimed at improving the health of Tanzanian women.
Beyond the intensive workdays, the students had the opportunity to experience Belgian culture, build new friendships, and gain inspiration for future projects.
This experience once again demonstrated that interfaculty and international collaboration is key to addressing global health challenges, while the HEROES Alliance partnership adds strategic value to strengthening Vilnius College’s internationalization.
The Faculty of Health Care, together with the students, sincerely thanks the Faculty of Business Management for the initiative and invitation to join the international COIL project “Afya Action: Youth & Women for Change.” We also express our gratitude to **Thomas More University – a member of the HEROES Alliance – for excellent organization, warm hospitality, and the opportunity to participate in meaningful meetings and seminars.
