THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC PRACTICAL STUDENT CONFERENCE

On 8 May, on the initiative of the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Health Care, the first distance international scientific practical student conference “Health Care in the Context of Youth Values” was held. Young researchers were invited to explore the health care system, the services provided, health-related factors, to present the results of their research, and to express their values and insights. More than 80 young researchers from the Czech Republic, Latvia, Poland, Turkey and, of course, various higher education institutions in Lithuania responded to the organisers’ invitation.

Dr. Milda Žukauskienė, Dean of the Faculty of Health Care, VIKO, Rasa Montvilė, General Director of UAB diagnostics laboratory “Antėja”, Gabrielė Loveikytė, member of the student representation of the Faculty of Health Care, greeted the participants of the conference, expressing their support for the academic dialogue and cooperation.

The presenters’ scientific works, issues and insights demonstrated that healthcare is given a very important place in the context of young people’s values. The relevance of the topic is confirmed by the numbers: 60 papers were read in the plenary session and 5 sessions! 7 of them were selected as the best.

The organisers of the conference congratulate the winners, are pleased with the excellent results, the large number of speakers, the quality and relevance of the presentations, and thank the sponsors – the rehabilitation and sports medicine centre “Hila”, the UAB “InMedika” group, the UAB diagnostics laboratory “Antėja”, and all the participants.

The success of the conference was undoubtedly due to the team of moderators – students of the Faculty of Health Care, Akvilė Žlibinaitė, KI23 gr., Nojus Rakšnys, BD22 gr., Gabrielė Loveikytė and Laura Suchotinaitė, ER24, Daiva Dzikienė and Marija Dementjeva, SL23A, Ana Lebedeva and Deimantė Kašėtaitė, SL24A, Deimantė Skatikaitė, HK23, Raminta Valeišaitė, DT24.

The conference highlighted students’ interest in current health issues, became a great platform for students to present their research papers and to collaborate. The success of the conference revealed the need to create a space for students’ research, dissemination of new ideas, shows that such events are needed and should become a continuous initiative.
